to the FineSoccer Drills Newsletter. Today's featured activity works on
possession and transition.
This is
a 4 v 4 plus 1 possession game in a 15 x 30 area (number of players and
size of field can vary). There is a mid line and all players start on one
side.
The
team that starts with the ball (in this case the yellow team) must make 5
consecutive passes (they may use the neutral red player) and then if
successful, they must switch the ball, with a dribble or pass to the other
half of the field.
If the
defending team wins the ball, they must take the ball into the other half
of the field and then make 5 consecutive passes and then switch it back.
When
the ball gets switched, all players from both teams plus the neutral player
changes sides.
This is
a great activity to work on possession in tight spaces and then transition
into a different playing area.
