Heat United U8 AcademyThe Heat United U8 Academy is a program designed for players younger than u9. The goal of the Academy is to help teach young players the basic skills of soccer in an environment that is conducive to learning.
The Academy is also focused on introducing parents to the benefits of a travel soccer program, without the added expense that comes with league play. Players in the Academy are training in age appropriate pools, and assigned to a specific team. As a group, they receive professional training with an emphasis technical skill development, physical development and cognitive learning. They are also given the opportunity to play against one another in game-type situations and with other U8 academy teams in the area. This allows for greater development without the pressure that comes with a need to win. We call this age group "the opportunity age group" in which, a positive and fun environment will capture the kid's love for soccer. ![]() Academy players get 2 training sessions a week for the fall and spring seasons. Games against other academy teams are held in the fall and spring. If you want get your kids involved in our U8 academy (ages 6, 7) please email HUSC's Coaching Director George Mihalopoulos. |
